Metoda PILATES

The Pilates method of exercise was developed by Joseph Hubertus Pilates more than a hundred years ago. He was inspired by old cultures and the goal of this method is to connect and consciously coordinate mind and body.
The exercises develop coordination, strength, balance, flexibility and breathing. It focuses on strengthening back, abdominal, and pelvic muscles as a basis for correct posture.

The aim is to strengthen the center-the core of the body- (“gurtel” or ”powerhouse”), and to develop long and flexible muscles. Emphasis is placed on correct breathing practices that provide oxygen to the muscles and support blood circulation so that energy levels are increased rather than depleted.
The Pilates method does not use countless repetitions which tire muscles, but creates a supportive system which gradually works muscle groups and creates harmony throughout the whole body.
Movement sequences in every program are thoughtfully worked out to rid of bad habits and create strength and postural symmetry.
